At ITU Internationalization Matters
In today's globalizing world, internationalization has become one of the main components and goals of higher education. It is an effective instrument used by higher education institutions to enchance cultural interaction as well as research and knowledge share.In this direction, with its international academic staff and education in different languages, ITU provides a multicultural environment to its students.

Technical University, Host department: Economics To tell the
truth my experience at ITU was far better than I expected,
because of several reasons. First, it is located in one of
the best places of Istanbul. Secondly, the quality of
lectures and facilities are highly modern. Finally, it has
all resources for extracurricular activities like football,
basketball, swimming etc.

My journey at Istanbul Technical University has been both
quite challenging and rewarding. I am very happy that I chose
ITU for my undergraduate studies as not only did I have the
best learning experience owing to the qualified academic
staff, but I was also able to develop interpersonal skills and
share experiences with people from diverse cultural
backgrounds.

As a proud ITU alumna, I can definitely say that this
university has given me the option to fast-track my career
with graduate study, conquer intellectual challenges and
develop a sense of achievement. During my 4 years at Istanbul
Technical University, I was nourished with the good faith and
encouragement of countless professional staff, faculty members
and my friends who have become my ITU family.

This is Nazlı Özdilli, an Industrial Engineering student. In
2019 Spring Semester, I studied at Technology University of
Lodz, Poland as an Erasmus student. Erasmus program has widened
my perspective; meeting with foreign people, exploring different
cultures/travelling, adaptation to new life has contributed to
my self-development a lot and my social, language skills has
been improved as well.

Proud to call myself and ITU alumnus. What an amazing journey I
had at this great institution. I meet the most amazing people
that have shaped my life. ITU for me represents hope,
dedication, quality, perseverance, inclusion and hard work. My
time in ITU was full of joy and amazing memories. The quality of
education has prepared me for my life ahead and am currently
ripping the benefits of graduating from ITU. I would surely not
hesitate to go through it all again. Teşekkürler ITU!!

placed ITU in first place among Turkish universities in 5

Annual Impact • Approximately 190.000 Scientists were
evaluated. 1,150 scientists from Turkey were included in this
category, of which 50 were ITU Scientists. ITU has maintained
its leadership amongst Turkish Universities. • Career-Long
Impact / Publications of the last 5 years were analysed. • The
attribution effect of publications of the last 5 years of
approximately 186.000 Scientists were analysed. 828 scientists
from Turkey were included in this category, of which 52 were
ITU Scientists
24th in the world and 1st in Turkey in the "Industry,
Innovation and Infrastructure" category. 48th in the world
and 2nd in Turkey in the category of “Quality Education”.

Recently, ITU International Office has made important
cooperation steps in Sub Saharan Africa. On 21 December
2021, the Head of the International Office Gülben Demir and
the International Strategies Coordinator Dr. Saltuk Duran
organized a meeting with the participation of Professor Şule
Gündüz and Professor Berk Canberk (Artificial Intelligence
Department of ITU) and the professors from the Polytechnical
School of the Cheikh-Anta Diop University in Dakar Senegal
Good News! A Turkish Learning Center is established at ITU.

ITU International Office is a hub for cross-cultural exchange
At ITU, cultural Diversity is the essence of our academic
success. Together we are stronger! In December 2021, we
organized an International Students Day where our students from
all over the world shared their food, music, and dances in a
convivial environment.
