Brief description

The proposed event is an international collaboration of three universities under EELISA Alliance of Universities, İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (ITU), Universitatea Politehnica din Bucureşti (UPB) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in promising a fun night of collaborative learning and research for the youth, to foster awareness on the circular economy across Europe.

3VIA is part of the Madrid Science and Innovation Week. It is a two-hour event consisting of short informative presentations, quizzes and discussion sessions geared towards first- and second-year university students and their internationality. The first of two presentations will introduce the participants to the basics of the concept of the circular economy, whereas the second presentation will inform them on the EELISA framework of the European Commission. The quiz method will be employed to invite participants from different backgrounds and locations from European countries to actively partake through three theme-based trivia activities that pique their curiosity and interest in the proposed topics. The three mini quizzes involve intro-level questions addressing the three main activities promoted by the circular economy: recycle, reuse, and repair. Each quiz session will be followed by a short semi-structured discussion on the theme accompanied by relevant sources that also hint at the questions asked. The trivia trilogy will be followed by an open discussion on the circular economy, this time open to all participants in the main session. The night will end with the announcement of participant recognitions, and a short informative note on upcoming EELISA European University opportunities.
